Read what an invoice’s QR code says
Every simplified tax invoice in the Kingdom carries a QR code with the seller, their VAT number, the time and the amounts. Paste its text or pick a photo of it, and see them laid out.
Nothing is uploaded: the code is read on your device.
What is inside the code
The QR is a short list of fields, each with a number. The first five have been on every simplified invoice since Phase 1; Phase 2 adds the stamp that ties the code to the signed invoice.
Issue codes like these from your own system
We set up ERPNext to produce Phase 2 invoices — XML, stamp and QR — and onboard each of your invoicing units with ZATCA.
Questions
Point your phone’s camera or any scanner app at the code; it shows the text, which you can copy and paste here. On some browsers you can also pick a photo of the code directly.
No. It shows what the code says. Checking the signature and the invoice itself is done against ZATCA’s systems, which this page does not contact.
Since Phase 2, the code also carries the invoice’s hash, its digital signature and the public key — fields 6 to 9. If they are there, the code was produced in the Phase 2 format; this page does not check that the signature is valid.
No. Both are read in your browser and never sent to us.
